Lisa Behnken and Ryan Miller Extension Educators in Crops will be hosting a Corn and Soybean Weed Management Tour on Wednesday July 3, 2019. Registration will be at 8:30 in the RCTC Heintz Center 1926 Collegeview Road SE Rochester. After a short program the tour will head to the research plots located just east of the college. There is no charge and you do not have to pre-register. The event will be held rain or shine.

Some of the broad topics that will be discussed and demonstrated in the plots include waterhemp management options, how does dicambia fit into a dicambia tolerant application strategies, dissecting corn and soybean herbicide systems, what did we learn about low level temperature inversions in 2018 and using cover crops with preemergence herbicides.

A lot of work and time was put into these herbicide demonstration plots. Lisa said they have all the plots signed and farmers and agronomists are welcome to stop by anytime to see how the herbicide programs hold throughout the summer. In addition Lisa said if a group of farmers would like to set up a time they would be happy to take them on a tour!
