Compeer Financial will be accepting grant applications for its Agriculture Education and Classroom Equipment Grant Program. All high school agriculture programs in the 144 counties that Compeer Financial serves are eligible to apply for up to $3,000 in grants per school. Applications are due by April 30, 2018. "Funding must be used to support agriculture education by funding programs or equipment for high school agriculture classrooms." For more information go to the web site Compeer.com and search for "Grants"

Operating a high school agriculture program takes a lot of resources and is not inexpensive. The grant program " is designed to help fund agricultural education and classroom equipment so students have access to modern resources to broaden their perspective of the rapidly changing agricultural industry."  The grant program is operated through Compeer Financial's  corporate giving program Compeer Financial Fund for Rural America. This reminds me of a similar Fund for Rural America grant program that helps county fairs with livestock equipment. If I remember correctly the Rice County Fair received a grant recently.
