Charges Upgraded in Red Wing Murder Case
Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man accused of a fatal shooting in Red Wing this past summer is now facing first-degree murder charges.
A statement issued by the Goodhue County Attorney and Red Wing Police Chief indicates the Goodhue County Grand Jury returned the first-degree murder indictment against 20-year-old Michael Reyes on Monday. He is accused of shooting 28-year-old D’andre Hicks with a handgun during a confrontation in Red Wing on the evening of June 25th. The Florida man was airlifted to St. Marys Hospital for emergency treatment but died from his wounds the following day.
Reyes, who fled Red Wing after the shooting, was arrested on June 26th after he was located a motel in Woodbury. He is currently being held on $2 million bail.
