Late Friday I received an email from the Minnesota Corn Growers Association. Reports surfaced that a meeting will be held Monday to negotiate potential changes to the renewable Fuel Standard. The meeting is expected to include both supporters of ethanol and the oil industry along with law makers and executives from each.

"Potential outcomes from this meeting may include devastating changes to the RFS that would greatly impact the nation's corn growers, especially a RIN cap or change to the current RIN structure." The Minnesota Corn Growers Association is urging its members to contact the United States Department of Agriculture and Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue at 202-720-2791.Press 2 to speak to an information specialist, and ask to leave a message for Secretary Perdue.

Secretary of Agriculture Perdue, who was at the Commodity Classic maintained his support for the RFS when speaking to attendees during the general session. However, he did not specifically address RIN's during his speech. So, be sure to call the USDA first thing Monday Morning.
