I am quite certain everyone that has been at the Minnesota State Fair (even a lot younger than I am) get a little tired and look for a place to sit down and relax for a while. Even better if we can find a place in the shade? Sure there are many picnic tables and other places to sit down, but not with comfortable chairs and a table to enjoy a little fair food.

It was a number of years ago that the Minnesota Farmers Union built a deck behind their building on Dan Patch Avenue next to the arches. They even built a roof to provide shade and a privacy fence! Minnesota Farmers Union President at that time Doug Peterson called it the Best Kept Secret at the Minnesota State Fair!

Do not think you have to be a Minnesota Farmers Union member to enjoy the patio, purchase coffee, desert, or one of the "official" new foods at the Minnesota State Fair. However, if you have questions about policy, farming, or any other issues Minnesota Farmers Union Staff and Farm Families are there to talk with you!
