Owatonna High School's baseball team was poised to clinch at least a share of the Big Nine Conference title Thursday night at Dundas, leading Northfield 10-3 in the seventh inning. The Raiders delayed the party by scoring eight runs in the final frame for an 11-10 win. OHS won the second game 7-1 as a non-conference meeting.

The Huskies still lead the conference at 8-1 and can wrap up the title Friday at 5 pm when they host Winona at Fuller Field at Dartt's Park in a makeup game. Winona lost to John Marshall Thursday 4-0. The Winhawks are 8-3 in the conference.

Rochester Mayo split with Red Wing, winning the first game 6-5 to improve to 8-2 in the Big Nine race. Owatonna plays at Red Wing Monday at 5 pm in a makeup game that can be heard on Kat Kountry 105FM and on the Kat Kountry 105 app.

OHS boys' tennis upset Lakeville North Thursday 5-2 to advance to Tuesday's Section 1AA semifinals in Farmington where they will face top seed Rochester Century.

In area baseball, Mankato Loyola beat Blooming Prairie 13-3 and Medford won a back-and-forth game with United South Central 14-10. Maple River defeated WEM 6-2 to pull into a first-place tie in the Gopher Conference.

On local softball diamonds, Faribault wrapped up the outright Big Nine title 2-0 over Mankato West and Blooming Prairie blanked Keyon-Wanamingo 2-0.
