The Cannon Valley Fair I believe is the first fair in our area. Many 4-H members exhibit projects and livestock at the Cannon Valley Fair. It is kind of a "warm up" for all the county fairs. It is a way to practice and learn before the county fairs. The goal of many 4-H members is to earn a trip to the Minnesota State Fair. Going to the Cannon Valley Fair on Friday afternoon brought back memories of when I was showing dairy cattle at the Faribault County Fair.

I am sure all projects take a lot of time, but livestock on average probably take the most. These 4-H members are hard at work washing their cattle at the Cannon Valley Fair. It takes a lot of time fitting cattle for the show. That is addition to all the time working with the cattle getting them used to the halter and how to "behave" during the show. Like one 4-H member told me, you have to become buddies too!
