The 68th Princess Kay of the Milky Way coronation was held last evening at the Minnesota State Fair Band Shell. Anna Eurle representing Meeker County was crowned the 68th Princess Kay of the Milky Way. Her first task today is spend 8 to 10 hours in the cooler having her likeness carved out of a big block of butter! Just like usual there was a big crowd of supporters at the coronation. Many of the Dairy Princess supporters had matching t-shirts which was fun to see!

Of course I always "root" for the Dairy Princess from our area, especially the ones I have gotten to know over the years. It was fun to see that three of the 10 finalists on the stage were from our area: Kelsey Kuball representing Rice County the daughter of Nate and Shannon Kuball, Katrina Thoe representing Dodge County the daughter of Jeffery and Susie Thoe and Emeliya Dose representing Wabasha County daughter of Paul Dose and Stephanie Hein, and Marinda and Bob Young.

Each of the other finalists will take their tune in the cooler having their likeness carved out of a block of butter that they can take home after the State Fair. Also congratulations to Katrina Thoe being voted Miss Congeniality by the other Dairy Princesses.
