Your favorite Country Artists

Throughout my life there have been so many great country artist. I never really liked country music when I was in my school days. But when I took my first radio gig at a small station in Aitkin, Mn., that's what the format was. Country. Had to learn to love it and learn about it in a hurry.  Someone recently asked me who I thought were the top artists were. So I gave him 10. And these are in no particular order. Alabama, Oak Ridge Boys, Conway Twitty, Kenny Rogers, Eddy Arnold, Garth Brooks, Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gayle, Johnny Cash and Bill Monroe.  He gave me his top ten which featured many more recent artists. We agreed on Garth Brooks, and he added Keith Urban, Reba, Geroge Strait and others. I was curious to see how other places felt about this list. About.com list the top ten country artists as this. (And ala David Lettermen from 10-1).

I was Shocked I had forgotten about Waylon and Willie and the others that were not a part of my list. But on thee all request Middays it does not matter, old or new. I will play them for you. Have a great one.
