When I was over at the Waseca County Fair, I walked through the 4-H building and I saw this Grand Champion shop project. This 1957 Farmall 450  was restored by Waseca County 4-H member Sam Morgan. I did not get to meet Sam, but it sure was fun learning about restoring this tractor. Sam put together a scrapbook complete with pictures showing how he restored the tractor. I am always amazed at how someone can take an old tractor apart, find parts, paint it and then put it all together again.

It is really great that 4-H members are involved in restoring tractors and machinery. I would not admit it  to Karl Kruger, "the Allis Chalmers Kid," but there is beauty in all restored tractors, even if they are orange or red and not green. It is even better that 4-H members are learning the procedures to tear apart and restore old tractors.
