It does not happen very often that I read a weather forecast that calls for a 100 percent chance of snow. That was the forecast for Thursday night. To a certain extent it was right because we did receive snow. However, the forecast predicted 3-5 inches of snow. When I got tot the studio a little after 4 this morning, I took my "official" National Weather Service yardstick outside to measure the snow. In downtown Faribault, we had 7.5 inches of snow. That is a little more snow than was predicted.

Last evening I was in Montgomery to speak at the Le Sueur County Pork producers annual banquet. A little before 10PM I was heading back to Faribault. It was not snowing in Montgomery, but as I headed south back to Faribault I ran into a few snow flurries. The closer I got to Faribault the heavier the snow. In Faribault there was heavy snow and the roads were quite slippery. Next Wednesday the calendar will flip to March, so is the cold winter weather over?
