Traffic Fatal

Authorities are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Steele County resulting in the death of a Medford man. The accident occurred just after 7 this morning on Highway 218 at the 35 Mile Post. A southbound vehicle operated by 50 year old Mark Smith of Medford spun out of control crossed the center line and was broadsided on the passenger side  by a northbound vehicle operated by 31 year old Alicia Westendorf of Austin. Westendorf suffered non life threatening injuries. .
