Three KDHL Power 96 Area Teams Receive Tops Seeds in Sub-Section Volleyball

The Class A top-ranked and defending state champion Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals, Class A fourth-ranked Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers and Class AA seventh-rated Kenyon-Wanamingo volleyball teams all received the top seed in their respective sub-sections.

The Cardinals open Thursday, October 29, against either Southland or Randolph, who play in Southland on Tuesday for the right to go to Bethlehem Academy.

Other seeds in the west sub-section of Section 1 Class A have Hayfield at No. 2 and Medford at No. 3 with byes. Fourth-seeded Goodhue entertains Lyle-Pacelli on Thursday.

Seventh seed Blooming Prairie hosts Leroy-Ostrander on Monday evening at 7 and the winner goes to Hayfield on Thursday.

Sixth-seed Grand Meadow is at home Tuesday and sees Glenville-Emmons, with the winner heading to Medford on Thursday.

The sub-section semifinals are on Halloween at 1PM and 2:30PM in Rochester.

In the Section 2 Class A south sub-section, Waterville-Elysian-Morristown is the top seed and will host either No. 9 Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton or No. 8 Mountain Lake. Those two collide Tuesday, with the winner heading to Waterville on Thursday.

No. 2 seed St. Clair has either No. 7 seed Lake Crystal-Welcome-Memorial or No. 10 United South Central. Those teams play Tuesday in Lake Crystal, with the winner going to St. Clair on Thursday.

On Thursday, No. 3 seed Mankato Loyola will host either No. 11 seed Madelia or No. 6 seed Martin Luther/Granada Huntley East Chain. They play on Tuesday.

No. 4 seed Springfield plays Thursday against No. 12 Truman or No. 5 Alden-Conger. The semifinals are at Mankato West High School on Monday, November 2, and the sub-section title match is Thursday, November 5, at 6PM at Mankato East High School.

Kenyon-Wanamingo is on the top of the Section 2 Class AA south sub-section bracket and hosts No. 8 Maple River on Thursday in the Castle at 7PM.

No. 2 seed New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva sees No. 7 seed Waseca.

No. 3 seed St. Peter hosts No. 6 Blue Earth Area and No. 4 Tri-City United has No. 5 Fairmont go to their gym in Montgomery.

The south sub-section semifinals are Monday, November 2, at Mankato East High School and the sub-section title contest will be Thursday, November 5, at 6PM at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.
