On January 5, 2022, at approximately 8:35 a.m., the Elko New Market Police Department was dispatched to an address in Elko New Market for a disturbance call. Upon arrival, the homeowner was located inside the residence deceased. The reporting party, an Elko New Market man, was also present and taken into custody without incident.

A bomb threat made in May at Lakeville South High School was investigated by the Lakeville Police Department and last night they announced that they had determined the source of the threat, with the assistance of the FBI. The person behind the threat was determined to be a juvenile who lived in Lakeville.
On Sunday the Scott County Sheriff's office closed the bridge over the Minnesota River in Jordan. They also announced that the Minnesota Department of Transportation would close the Highway 41 Minnesota River bridge at 9 a.m. Tuesday due to flooding.
A September 14th crash claimed the life of16-year-old Ja'Mason Moffett and injured two others. Wednesday the Scott County Sheriff's office said an arrest has been made in connection with the case.
Around 12:45PM on Tuesday a Chevy Cavalier being driven by 17 year old Isaac Brent Ohlemann of Faribault collided with a Town and Country Mini Van being driven by Kimberly Lorraine Pirri age 43 of New Market. The Accident occurred at Natchez Avenue at 230th Street East.
