While the East Coast dealt with a lot of snow last week, here in Minnesota we haven't had to worry too much about the snow so far this winter, until now. This evening, most people will be grabbing their shovels and getting to work clearing driveways, making this a good time to brush up on a few shoveling tips.

As Minnesotans, we are generally pretty prepared and deal well with low temperatures, but for the past week or so, we have been experiencing a particularly cold snap. It's never a bad idea to refresh your memory on some tips to avoid and identify frostbite.

This weekend has brought some extreme cold with it, and it's unlikely to be the last time we see such brutal temperatures before winter ends. I prefer to stay inside and stay warm when it's this cold out, but that is not always an option.
