Dr. Annette Parker will be installed as the President of South Central College during events Thursday night in Mankato.  During our last visit on AM Minnesota I asked Dr. Parker why they wait so long to install college Presidents.  South Central announced her selection in March of 2013 and she took over the position officially on July 1 of last year.  Dr. Parker told us it makes perfect sense, because then the President can get to know the school they are heading.  Students, Faculty, Employees and coummunity leaders in the community.  In this case there are multiple communities with South Central campuses in Faribault and North Mankato.  Mayor John Jasinski announced at this week's Faribault City Council meeting he'll be leaving the Chamber Business Expo early Thursday to attend the installation and he said about 45 people are expected to take a bus from Faribault to the event in Mankato.  Dr. Parker told KDHL family members from all over the country will be attending at the Courtyard by Marriott in Mankato.  There is a social hour, followed by a presdential toast and dinner and program.  Our own Jerry Groskreutz will be in attendance with his lovely bride at the classy affair.
