Minnesota Sen. John Jasinski of Faribault will be on AM Minnesota at 9:30 this morning to give us a summary of the legislative session that ended at 3AM today.

He might have his eyelids propped open with toothpicks, but he will be joining us.

When I talked to Jasinski yesterday to see if he could be on the program, he didn't know if they would be able to finish their work before today. He noted the past few days were filled with very little sleep and lots of frustration for the freshman lawmaker.

After missing the official deadline of midnight Monday, there were hopes to end the session by 7AM Tuesday, and then noon Tuesday was the "deadline," and obviously that did not happen.

Jasinski will get us updated on any locally specific measures from the legislative session. For example, he told me there is money in the bonding bill for MSAD and South Central College. However, money to conduct a study of placing an interchange at County Road 9 north of Faribault was pulled out in final negotiations at the governor's request.
