The annual River Bend Nature Center of Faribault Maple Syrup Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th with races for all levels of interest.  There is a 1 mile event and 5K, 10K, 25K and 50K races through the beautiful nature center on Faribault's east side.  One of the reasons why River Bend is popular are the different natural settings right in the nature center.

There is some bluff and some prairie.  A Pancake Brunch is also served which is available to people who aren't runners or walkers.  The pancakes come hot off the griddle and River Bend Maple Syrup is available to pour over those pancakes and make them even tastier.  This is real syrup that tastes different than some of the commercial syrups available at your local stores.

Both indoor and outdoor seating will be available for the brunch with sausage links to go along with the pancakes and real maple syrup.  Beverage choices include milk, juice and water.

All runners enjoy complimentary admission to the brunch served after completing their race.

If you are not a participant in the race general admission cost for the Pancake Brunch is $7 per person and $5 for River Bend members.  Serving begins at 10:00 a.m. for all noon-racers.

Registration and check-in starts at 6:00 a.m. for the 25K and 50K participants with their races starting at 7:00 a.m.

Registration and check-in starts at 7:00 a.m. for 1 mile, 5K and 10K participants.  The 1 mile and 5K begin 8:30 a.m. and the 10K 8:35 a.m.

Awards are handed out at 10:30 a.m. for 5K, 10K and 25K participants and the event ends at 1:00 p.m.

We will get more details on today's KDHL AM MInnesota when a couple representatives of River Bend join us in studio at 9:30 a.m.

Remember if you can't tune in at that time the show will be uploaded by mid-afternoon Tuesday for your information and enjoyment.
