John Dvorak, executive secretary for the Rice County Fair, will be my guest Tuesday on KDHL's AM Minnesota program. Dvorak will be stopping by the KDHL studios about once a month to give us an update on the Rice County Fair. With the nice warm weather I am beginning to look forward to the fair season. Many who are not involved in a local county fair do not realize how much time is involved in organizing a fair.

I know as soon as the fair wraps up the planning begins for the next county fair. They are always looking for new acts, bands and other things to bring to the Rice County Fair. Many times the ones that were popular are booked years in advance. I suspect it is a challenge to get new food vendors at the fair, too. After all, how many more food items can be put on a stick? This is a picture of Deb White running the Nail Driving Contest at last year's Rice County Fair.
