Rice County Dairy Princess Crowned at Banquet

Saturday evening the Rice County American Dairy Association hosted the annual Dairy Princess Banquet at the KC Hall in Faribault. Emilie Trcka from Montgomery was crowned the Rice County Dairy Princess. Emma Kubal (left) and Jacy Saemrow (right) were crowned Dairy Maids. It is great to see many counties getting the younger girls that are not old enough to be a Dairy Princess involved as Dairy Maids. The guys can promote the dairy industry too as Dairy Ambassadors.

All county Dairy Princesses can go to a statewide training session in St. Cloud this summer, where they can also compete for the title of Princess Kay of the Milky Way. Of all the Dairy Princesses, 10 will be chosen as finalists. The 10 finalists are often referred to as "butter heads." All 10 finalists will spend a day in the cooler at the Minnesota State Fair having their sculpture carved out of a 90-pound block of butter.
