Music Monday Jan 20, 2014

It’s Music Monday! Every week I share something I am currently listening to. This week’s Music Monday features a collaboration of two legendary artists.

01/20/14: Today’s Music Monday featured song is “Girl from the North Country” as sang by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. The song was written by Dylan and he released it in 1963. Only 9 years apart in age, Cash and Dylan became friends in the mid 60′s. When Cash created a variety show, The Johnny Cash Show, Bob Dylan appeared on the very first episode, where the two sang “Girl from the North Country” together. The show was filmed at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and had 58 episodes before being cancelled. The show ran from June of 1969 to March of 1971.
