Mickey Guyton Effortlessly Owns Loretta Lynn’s ‘You Ain’t Woman Enough’ [Watch]

I'm opening for @lorettalynnofficial… at the @theryman… this Saturday. I can't… What a freaking dream.

A post shared by Mickey Guyton (@mickeyguyton) on

Mickey Guyton can take on any vocal challenge, and in honor of opening for Loretta Lynn at the Ryman in Nashville on April 15, the singer decided to treat fans to her own version of a classic Lynn tune.

Guyton posted a video on Instagram on April 10 performing the song with a smile, clearly excited to be part of the same lineup as an icon she loves. Accompanied by just an acoustic guitar, Guyton’s effortless vocals shine on the verse and chorus, leaving fans wanting more by the time the one-minute show is over.

“What a freaking dream,” Guyton writes in the caption in reference to the upcoming performance.

Guyton has become one of the most promising new artists in country, having clearly demonstrated her top-notch vocal prowess through her own tracks as well as memorable covers of tunes like Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy.” She was nominated for an ACM Award in 2016 for New Female Vocalist of the Year.

Recently, Guyton has performed at Nashville’s Tin Pan South songwriters’ festival as well as the Grand Ole Opry. She is opening for Lynn on the second of a two-night stint at the Ryman marking the legend’s 85th birthday. Lynn will release a new studio album, Wouldn’t It Be Great, in August.
