The Faribault Falcons had all the momentum heading into Thursday night's Senior Night match with the mighty Rochester Mayo Spartans.  They were coming off an incredibly impressive win over Mankato West and eight straight Big Nine Conference match victories.  After the Faribault Seniors were honored however, Mayo continued their dominance of the Big Nine.  With one conference match remaining the Spartans have yet to even drop a set in Big Nine play.  Mayo vaulted out to a 4-0 lead in the first set and Faribault fought back to tie, then took a brief lead and it was see saw until about the 15 point mark.  The Spartans won the first set 25-20 and the second by the same score before capturing the third set 25-12. By that time a very good turnout of students from FHS were pretty quiet in Nomeland Gym.  Faribault was able to get Mayo out of system a number of times, but it didn't matter.  The Spartans are so good at picking balls up off their front row blockers and taking balls that appear to be lost causes and turning them into points.
