Maralee L. Rother, age 94, of Castle Rock Twp, passed away April 18, 2024 at home.

Homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. Maralee was skillful at gardening vegetables and flowers, canning, making hearty meals for her family and for friends and relatives. She was supportive of her children in their efforts. Maralee was involved in activities in the community.

She was a bowler, serving as president of the Tri-City Bowling League (Farmington, Lakeville, and Rosemount). She was secretary for the Vermillion Knights of Columbus, named an honorary Knight for her work with the council. She was a member of the Flying D Saddle Club as an avid horseback rider. She served as clerk of the Castle Rock Township Board. She drove school bus notably for Randolph Schools, but also for Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount. She was a demolition derby champion.

She was a long-standing member of Saint Mathias Church, serving and supporting the annual FunFest, and playing the organ for Saturday night Masses for many years, joined by parish members singing in the choir loft. Maralee enjoyed playing cards: 500, Pinochle, Euchre was her favorite. She was the overseer of the family chicken plucking business, processing chickens for family, friends, neighbors, and community members. The family did this for many years.

She is survived by son, Patrick (Susan), daughter, Linda Dominguez; grandchildren, Michael Dominguez (Alicia Jones), Meghan, Tiffany (Justin) Carl, Christopher (Elle Bedecarre McNamara); great-grandchildren, Joey Dominguez, Abagail Jones, Liana Carl, Liam Carl; sisters Billie Jo Lively, Beth Waldhaus, brothers, Guy Lau, Laurence Lau, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents Martin and Agatha (Ring); husband, Clarence; sons, infant Michael Robert, David, Michael William; sisters, Roxanne Wood, Dorothy Sue Henderson; brothers, John Lau, infant Martin.

Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Mathias Catholic Church, Hampton, Minnesota, Saturday, April 27, 2024, 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment at Saint Mathias Cemetery, Hampton, Minnesota.
