The Faribault Lakers clinched a spot in the State Amateur Baseball Tournament with a 4-2 win over top seed New Market in the Region 3C Playoffs Sunday.  Evan Knutson gave up a run in each of the first two innings and then Matt Lane hammered down the victory throwing the final two innings for the  Blake Langerud collected the first RBI of the game on his second double of the contest and Joey Grote followed a Adam Jensen RBI single with a smashing  two run homer to center.  Grote told KDHL after the game the feeling is something quote, "I probably won't be able to duplicate the rest of my life." Manager Charlie Lechtenberg and all the Lakers were nothing but smiles after the game.  The Lakers haven't been to a State Tourney since 1990.  Now the Lakers have their eyes on winning the Region Tournament so they can have a first round bye at State which is being played in Jordan and Belle Plaine this year.  The Lakers will play St. Patrick in Elko Thursday night at 8.
