This is a picture of one of our farms that was planted to peas last spring. There was some tile put in this farm many years ago. Because peas are harvested early this was an ideal time to add more tile. Tiling contractors are not busy in the summer because most of the land still has corn and soybeans growing. The point is, you get a pretty good cost savings by tiling in the summer. The picture below is taken from the county road on the edge of the farm and you can see where the tile lines were installed. They are spaced every 100 feet. Some farmers are tiling their farms with lines every 50 or 60 feet.
