The Hiawatha Valley League Activities Directors have blown up the original baseball schedule for this season and replaced it with a new schedule that includes a number of doubleheaders.

Here is the new Kenyon-Wanamingo schedule I received from their Activities Director Randy Hockinson.  If I receive others I'll post them for you.

  • April 24  At Lake City
  • April 26 Host Zumbrota-Mazeppa doubleheader
  • April 27 At Kasson-Mantorville
  • April 30 Host Triton doubleheader
  • May 1 Home Randolph or Lake City if April 24 does not work
  • May 4 Home Byron
  • May 7 At Hayfield doubleheader
  • May 11 Host Rochester Lourdes
  • May 14 At Goodhue dooubleheader
  • May 15 At Waterville-Elysian-Morristown
  • May 17 Host Cannon Falls
  • May 18 At Stewartville
  • May 21 Host Pine Island

All doubleheaders will start at 4:30 p.m. and will be two five inning games.  Single games will start at 5:00 p.m. and be seven innings.  Only divisional games will count toward the divisional championship and there will be no overall conference championship game played this season.

JV games can be modified in length or played as a single game instead of a doubleheader only upon approval of both school Activity Directors by noon of game day.

Junior High games will follow the schedule of the varsity at the opposite site of varsity games.

Makeup dates for rain-outs will  be on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

I stopped by the Memorial FIeld baseball diamond Thursday evening and as you can see getting Thursdays scheduled home game in could be a chore.
