The Goodhue County Fair got underway Tuesday with the usual fun for everyone in rural Zumbrota.

Daily admission is $7.  A season gate pass is $20.  Those under age 12 get in for free.

It is noted on the fair program the schedule is subject to change.

One of the things Fair Board Treasurer Darla Vieths and newest Goodhue County Fair Board member Morgan Berg told KDHL they are excited about is the new livestock building housing goats.

4-H Building is open 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day through Saturday.

Commercial Buildings are open 12:30 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. through Saturday.

Open Class Exhibit Buildings are open 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. through Saturday.

Entry Day was held Tuesday with the Johnny Holm Band performing their 40th annivsary show in the Beer Garden.  The band is older than 40 but the first permorance at the fair was in 1983.

Wednesday is Day Care Day so the fairgrounds will be filled with little people bused in from all over the county.  From Red Wing to Kenyon and all points in between.

There is a 4-H Sheep Show at 8:00 a.m. in the Show Arena.

An Ag Marketing meeting takes place in a big tent sponsored by Riverland College at 8:00 a.m.

9:00 a.m. to Noon are the special activities for day cares.  Same time frame there is Storytime and a Fossil Dig at the old schoolhouse on the grounds.

9:00 to Noon the Goodhue County Sheriff's Department sponsors kids "Pedal Cars" in the Beer Garden.

9:00 a.m. to Noon Goodhue County Sheriff's Department has a Dive Tank Demonstration.

10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday is Kidz Science Safari with their hours Friday at Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Professor Newton is at the fair 10:30 a.m. 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Wenesday.  Noon, 3:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Friday 6:00 p.m. Outstanding Senior of Goodhue County Award announced in Beer Garden.

Crescent City Amusements provides the Carnival with hours of 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Wednesday.  Thursday, Friday, Saturday 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Goodhue County Pork Producer's Building will be filled with good food and fellowship.  Jerry Groskreutz and I will get to broadcast live between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday from their Food Stand.
