Goodhue County Fair Fun Continues on AM Minnesota 8-11-2016

Day Care Day was Wednesday at the Goodhue County Fair in Zumbrota and, as always, I enjoyed visiting with some of the future leaders of our communities.

We visited on AM Minnesota with a Zumbrota 7-year-old and four kids from Red Wing near the FFA Children's Barnyard.

The Children's Barnyard is a cooperative effort of some of the FFA Chapters of Goodhue County. Those chapters include Cannon Falls, Goodhue, Kenyon-Wanamingo, Lake City, Red Wing and Zumbrota-Mazeppa. The barn is open each day of the fair from 9AM to 9PM.

As you can imagine, the FFA Barnyard is a big hit with the kids.

Thursday is Family Day and Friday Senior Citizens Day at this year's Goodhue County Fair in Zumbrota.

The Goodhue County Commissioners will have a meeting at 10AM Thursday in the Entertainment Tent

Thursday will be the first of two days of drawings for two kid's bikes. You must be present to win.

A Fruit Pie Contest is at 4:30PM in the Beer Garden.

The Farm Bureau Century Farm presentation is 7:30PM Thursday.

Another Breakfast at the Fair will take place in the Goodhue County Pork Producers building from 7-9AM. I'll be broadcasting the 7:05AM and 8:05AM news from there and also the 7:40AM sports and 8:25AM Kenyon-Wanamingo Area News. Stop by and join me for breakfast.

Wednesday I had the new menu item, "Breakfast Brat." It contains eggs, cheese, onions and green peppers. The flavor bursts in your mouth. I'm hoping to try the other new menu item Thursday, a seasoned "Pork Kabob."

Tickets are going well for the Sawyer Brown concert Friday night following the Bull Riding, Mutton Bustin' and Barrel Racing.

Kid's Day is Saturday and the fun wraps up Sunday.

There will be a drawing for two kids bikes and helmets Saturday also.
