The 26th annual Bruce Smith Golf Classic will be Monday, June 15, at 12:30PM at the Faribault Golf Club, with a shot gun tee time. The event includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart, prizes, range and banquet dinner.

The event is held in memory of the late Bruce Smith, a former Faribault resident and Heisman Trophy winner with the University of Minnesota Gophers in 1941, and raises money for Faribault schools -- Faribault High School, Bethlehem Academy and Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf -- to support scholarships and activity programs. The event has raised more than $185,000 since it began.

There are usually some pretty good items auctioned off. Last year there were some autographed baseballs and a Gopher football helmet autographed by Coach Jerry Kill.

Your foursome can be in on all raffles and contests by purchasing a wristband for $80.

Give Bruce Krinke a call at (507) 384-7968 with questions.

Show your support for Faribault schools by participating in this great event.
