Four members of the Faribault Falcon football team are in a Rochester hospital after an automobile accident last night.

The four players are Chase Ernste, Henry Sanchez, Alex Linse and Lamont Anderson. Faribault Mayor John Jasinski asked that Faribault residents, "Please remember these young men in your thoughts and prayers."

Jasinski has a son on the team and told KDHL it was "a sad day for Faribault."

Activities Director Ken Hubert told KDHL that head coach Ned Louis conducted a team meeting this morning to deliver the news and did a "terrific job."

Ernste appears to be the most seriously injured and underwent surgery this morning.

The accident happened along Highway 14 in the Owatonna area. As of this posting no accident report is listed on the State Patrol website.

Tonight's game with Mankato East at Bruce Smith Field was moved to Saturday afternoon at 3PM.

Unfortunately, KDHL/Power 96 will not be able to broadcast the contest due to commitments with Carleton and St. Olaf football and the Minnesota Twins.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the players, their families and friends.
