Faribault Area Senior Center Executive Director Mona Kaiser joins us for AM Minnesota at 9:30AM today and I'm hoping to get an update on how the expansion is progressing.

All the fundraising is not over but the organization did get the level of funding they wanted to move forward with the project.

The Senior Center is having a drop off recycling event Monday from 4-6PM and Mona is going to try to get the gentleman organizing that to join us on the show via telephone.

She explained to me that the Senior Center benefits from this effort and some other charitable groups. We will get more details.

Items that will be accepted include:

  • Bedding, pillows, linens (no beds or frames)
  • Luggage, purses, wallets
  • Toys, puzzles, sports equipment (no books)
  • Small electrical appliances (hair dryers, toasters, etc.)
  • Tools, auto, garden equipment
  • Audio, video, phone equipment (no tube TVs)
  • Clothing, shoes,accessories
  • Cookware, flatware, glassware, dishes
  • Home decor, candles, collectibles
  • Electrical fixtures (no bulbs)
  • Holiday decorations (no Christmas trees)

Just drive up and your vehicle will be unloaded for you in the parking lot across the street from the Senior Center.

What a great way to make your spring cleaning an event that benefits others.
