Faribault Main Street program coordinator Nort Johnson stops by the KDHL studio to discuss what's happening downtown.

In addition I'll probably ask Nort about the just-released survey of the state's manufacturers.

The survey results indicate manufacturers are optimistic about their companies' growth in 2016; they were slightly less positive about the overall state economy.

The joint 2016 manufacturing survey included more than 200 Minnesota manufacturers and was conducted by DEED and the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.

DEED Commissioner Katie Clark Sieben says manufacturing is important to the state's economy, accounting for more than 314,000 jobs, and the average manufacturing job salary is $61,000 a year.

Clark Sieben says the optimism points to continued expansion of Minnesota's manufacturing sector and ongoing demand for a skilled, trained workforce.

We will get Nort's take on this locally on the program, which is at 9:30AM.

If you can't listen then, go to www.kdhlradio.com and click on the AM Minnesota tab and you can watch the program on our YouTube channel.
