The Faribault Lakers advanced to the Consolation Final of the 2023 Charlie Larca Memorial Tournament at the Mini-Met in Jordan today.

The Lakers got by Dodge County 3-1 and will play Prior Lake Mudcats at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow (July 9, 2023).

The Mudcats scored a 8-2 win over the Hanska Lakers.

Adam Voss started pitching allowing 3 hits and a run in his 2 1/3 innings of work.  Voss walked 2 batters, hit 4 by pitch and struck out 4 while throwing 66 pitches, 35 strikes.

Joey Grote earned the win while throwing the final 4 2/3 innings in the scheduled 7 inning game.

Grote struck out 2, walked 2 and allowed 1 hit with 45 pitches thrown, 29 strikes.

The Diamondbacks scored their run in the bottom of the third inning.  Isaac Rogne was walked on 4 pitches.

The next batter hit into a fielder's choice.  Devin Knudson was hit by a pitch in the 9th pitch of his at bat.

#3 singled (No #3 listed on Dodge County MBA roster) to left scoring #23 (also not listed on roster).

Grote then came in to pitch and walked Karver Heydt before achieving a strikeout to end the threat.

Faribault scored all their runs in the top of the 5th inning.

Nate Rost opened the inning with a 3-1 count single to center.  He advanced to second on a grounder off the bat of Tucker Alstead.

Zander Fitzsimmons was issued a 4-pitch walk.

Following a strikeout Grote clobbered a 1-0 count triple scoring two runs.

Austin Tobin put the ball in play resulting in an error that scored Grote.

The Diamondbacks finished the game with 4 hits.  Faribault had 6 hits, Nate Rost had the lone multi-hit day with 2 singles.

Faribault is now 14-8 on the season.

Bird Island upended Jordan 5-3 in a 10 inning thriller to set up the games tomorrow.
