The Faribault Falcons saw a pass picked off on the third play of the game, got the ball back after Spring Lake Park ran a couple of plays and turned it over, but simply had too many turnovers to overcome in their 43-19 loss to the Panthers at Lakeville North High School in quarterfinal round Class 5A State Tournament action.  After Spring Lake Park scored on a 81 yard burst from their star Junior running back Isley Carrington the Falcons answered nearly immediately with a long pass play to Porter Sartor and I thought, okay game on!  But there were just too many turnovers.  Three fumbles and two interceptions.  The Falcons fought valiantly in the second half and played the Panthers fairly evenly, but a TD drive to start that half really put the game in hand for Spring Lake Park.  Faribault ended their season with a 8-3 record and they have nothing to hang their heads over.  That was a very fast Spring Lake Park team and when you get on turf, speed always seems to win.  The Panthers played half their schedule against 6A competition so they are truly battle tested. Don't be surprised to see them at the Bank in the Prep Bowl because remember it's turf fields the rest of the way.
