Additional Information

River Bend Nature Center will host its annual WinterFest celebration on January 24 from 1-4PM.

WinterFest activities include horse-drawn sleigh (or wagon) rides through the prairie, live animals (indoors), crafts, winter-themed games, blizzard mini golf, sledding (bring your own sled), and snowshoe clinics. St. Olaf College Hill Harmonics choral group will return to the event this year to perform a cappella carols at different locations between 2PM and 3PM. The friendly goats from Goat Dispatch will also “perform” at WinterFest by recycling (i.e. eating) Christmas trees. The popular goats, which help control invasive plant species at the Nature Center during the summer months, will be available to observe throughout the event.

Admission to WinterFest is $7 per person ($5 per River Bend member) or $25 per family ($20 per River Bend member family), whichever option is cheapest. The admission fee includes all event activities, plus fresh-popped popcorn, s’mores to cook on the campfire, and a seasonal beverage (e.g. cocoa, cider). Learn more about WinterFest on River Bend’s website.
