Additional Information

The River Bend Nature Center will host their annual Maple Syrup Open House with free, hands-on demonstrations and tours of the maple syruping process on Saturday, March 19 from 2-4PM.

Did you know that you can make syrup from more than just maple trees? Or that it takes about 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup? River Bend staff and volunteers will show you how to select sap-producing trees, tap trees, collect sap, and run the evaporator to boil the sap down into delicious maple syrup. Those that attend will get a chance to try the finished product as well.

This program is free and open to all ages. For more information, visit River Bend Nature Center’s website at www.rbnc.org or call them at (507) 332-7151.
