Additional Information

Hands-on activities for children will be offered by the log cabin, next to the Rice County Historical Society Museum, during the Rice County Fair to allow them to get a taste of life in yesteryears.

This year’s county fair is Tuesday, July 19, through Sunday, July 24. Children’s activities will begin Wednesday, July 20, by the log cabin, and be held daily from noon to 4PM. A special game-day for children will be from noon to 4PM Friday of the fair by the one-room school building near the museum.

Throughout the fair, the RCHS Museum at 1814 N.W. Second Ave. will be open for a reduced fee. The society’s out-buildings will be free to visit during the fair and include a church, one-room school, log cabin and Heritage and Harvest Hall, which offer exhibits of early county businesses and agriculture.

Also during the fair, Wednesday through Sunday, there will be demonstrations on the grounds of the museum such as blacksmithing, tatting, quilting, knitting, woodworking and other crafts.
