Additional Information

River Bend Nature Center invites people of all ages to come out on Saturday, October 24, from 3-7PM to enjoy a family friendly fall festival: Bats, Bones & Bonfires! The event includes wagon rides, live animals, Halloween crafts, face painting, costume parades and a bouncy house. The event is sponsored by Boxers Bar & Grill and Faribault Heating & Air Conditioning.

Bats, Bones, & Bonfires includes a pair of entertainment options beginning with Mark Hedenstrom singing campfire songs with his guitar from 3-5PM. Then the Taiko drum group will follow with a performance from 5-6PM. The Taiko drum performers are students at St. Olaf College in Northfield that entertain with a broad range of Japanese drums and percussion instruments.

New this year there will be a mystery animal trail as portrayed by a local Girl Scout troop. Walk the trail of costumed animal characters to try to figure out what they are! Also free goody bags for children will be given out to those that come to the event while supplies last. Don’t forget to wear your costume!

Admission to Bats, Bones, & Bonfires is $20 per family or $7 per person ($15 per family or $3 per person for River Bend members.) This is an all-inclusive price including popcorn, s’mores, apple cider or hot chocolate, plus all the entertainment options.

For more information visit River Bend’s website, or call education coordinator Kaytlan Moeller at (507) 332-7151.
