This is what I saw as I headed out to the Farm Wednesday afternoon. There is still some corn to harvest in our listening area. The snow and cold are making it difficult. The problem is not the snow on the ground, it's snow on the corn. When snow gets into the combine it melts, even when it is very cold. Than the corn husks and leaves plug up the sieves and all the corn goes right out the back end of the combine. So, you have to wait until the snow melts or blows off of the corn. As I looked at this field I though there was not much snow on the corn and it might work to combine it. About a mile up the road I saw there was a farmer combining corn. Let's hope the weather cooperates and farmers can finish up with the harvest!
