The Faribault Fire Department received a grant of more than $9,500 from Community Co-op Oil Association in Faribault. In addition to the funds donated by Community Co-op, the contribution will be matched dollar for dollar by a CHS Seeds for Stewardship grant. The CHS Seeds for Stewardship is a program that helps local cooperatives grow their impact locally. "We're proud to support this project as a way to strengthen the community and see it thrive," said Kelly Watts of Community Co-op.

The funds will be used to replace and buy new equipment for specialized rescues including Grain Bin for Faribault and the surrounding area. Faribault Fire Chief Dustin Dienst said they are "honored that the Co-op gave us the opportunity to apply for this grant which allowed us to get equipment that otherwise was not budgeted for this year. This equipment augments the equipment we already have to expedite the safe and efficient rescue of someone in need."
