The Rice County Salvation Army has a goal to raise $50,000. A goal that fell a little bit short last year. Ed and Gina Little were on AM Minnesota Last week to talk about the campaign.

Participating businesses in Faribault include Wal-Mart, which counts as two locations with two different entrances, Hy-Vee, and Fareway Foods. The two Northfield locations are Cub Foods and Econo Foods while Lonsdale’s one location remains Mackenthun’s.

There are six volunteer shifts six days a week, Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Volunteers can select which two-hour shifts fit within their time schedule and choose the location where they’d like to ring bells.

Eighty eight percent of the dollars raised in Rice County, stay in the county. The rest goes to help out disaster situations in Minnesota and South Dakota with a small portion going to administrative costs.

So get your self or your family or your scout group or fraternal organization out to help ring those bells for the Salvation Army.
