Cannon Falls FFA Crops Team

The Cannon Falls FFA crops team won the regional contest and earned the right to compete at the State FFA Convention in April. Members include Brandon Hernke (from left), Mason Lundell, Cole Zimmerman, Chase Jacobson and Kira Jacobson. Chase Jacobson had the top individual score.

Contestants identify plants, weeds, insects, diseases and crops. In addition they have to know how to grade a sample of corn, checking moisture, test weight, foreign material and damage. The team that wins at the State FFA Convention in April earns the right to judge at the National FFA Convention in Louisville this fall. The top four scores are tabulated to determine the team winner. The lowest score on the team of five becomes the alternate.
