The Bethlehem Academy Cardinal football team got themselves near the top seed in Class 2A football with a win over St. Clair on Thursday night 41-14.

The Cardinals scored first with 7:07 left in the first quarter on a pass from Ted Brown to Avery Hunt. Anthony Langfeldt hit the first of five extra points and it was 7-0. Then with 5:49 left in the first quarter, Sam Schruin went 13 yards for a score. The extra point was good and it was 7-7. Peyton Glenzinski scored the first of three offensive touchdowns with 1:38 left; the kick was good and it was 14-7. St. Clair ran their first play after the kickoff but fumbled. Glenzinksi recovered it and scored. The extra point was blocked and it was 20-7.

In the second quarter, Cyclones QB Brandon Freitag threw to Sam Schruin about 10 yards for a score. The kick was good and it was 20-14. Then Peyton Glenzinski scored from nine yards out; the kick was good and it was 27-14 at the half.

In the third quarter, Avery Hunt scored for the Cardinals; the kick was good and it was 34-14. Two minutes later Glenzinksi scored from one yard out. The kick was good at it was 41-14.

The Cardinals go to 7-1. St. Clair goes to 3-5. Seeding is done according to a QRF Ranking and New Ulm Cathedral is at 48.4 with B.A. second at 47.8.
