The University of Minnesota Extension Beef Team will be offering two online home study courses in 2016. Introduction to Cow/Calf Nutrition and Health Management for the Cow/Calf Herd focus on practical applications through all phases of cow/calf production. The lessons include online activities designed to help participants become more familiar with electronic resources and an online forum to give participants the option to connect with other producers. The courses begin on February 15 and new lessons will be posted every two weeks.

The fee for course registration is just $75. Registration is open until February 15, 2016. For more information, contact Nicole Kenny-Rambo at nmkenny@umn.edu or give her a call at (320) 235-0726. In addition, you can go to the University of Minnesota Beef Team web site for details and topics of each lesson. Their web site is http://www.extension.umn.edu/. Granted I am a "simple country boy" but it is amazing to me what we can do with computers these days! When I was in college we thought it was something that we had a calculator that would add, subtract, multiply and divide. We did not have to use a slide rule! The only computers available were big mainframe computers in some huge room at the University.
