Poor shooting and some turnovers led to the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars defeating the Bethlehem Academy Cardinals 50-40 in Mazeppa on Friday night. The Cardinals shot 36 percent from the field. B.A. was playing their third road game this week and for the second night in a row. Avery Hunt and Brendan Trump are banged up a bit but they gave it their all on Friday night. Zumbrota lead 23-15 at the half and the Cougars only won the second half by two points, 27-25.

Jack Clark had 17 to pace the Cardinals and Hunter Dienst had 9. They were our State Farm Insurance Agents of Faribault Players of the Game.

The Cougars had three in double figures: Isaiah Nolte and Robvon Jackson each had 14 and Alex Guse had 12.

The Cardinals face Waterville-Elysian-Morristown at home on Tuesday night that game will be on KDHL 920 and kdhlradio.com, and the Cougars will be facing the Triton Cobras on Tuesday night.
