The Faribault Falcons traveled to Austin on Tuesday night and led 5-0 to start the game, but the finish was not as good in a 57-46 defeat to the Packers.

Austin did not score until 11:42 to go in the first half. Unfortunately the Falcons couldn't score during much of the stretch either and Austin had a 21-16 advantage at the break.

Austin's trapping zone press was broken repeatedly early when Faribault didn't over-dribble the basketball.

The H&R Block of Faribault, Owatonna and Lakeville stat of the game was Austin's 20 points off Faribault's 20 turnovers.

The Packers had their share of turnovers also (15) but Faribault could manage just seven points off their turnovers.

The Falcons missed a lot of layups in the game.

There were not a lot of whistles in the contest. Austin was 11 of 13 from the free throw line and Faribault was 10 of 12.

Both teams had four three-pointers.

Our Faribault State Farm Agents Jason Krohn and Tony Langerud Falcons of the game were 6-foot-8 junior Kade Hart and 6-foot-3 senior Winfield Hunter.

Hart finished with 18 points -- a couple of threes and some put backs and layups -- and never went to the free throw line in the game.

Hunter had 11 of his 13 points in the second half.

Austin was led by 6-foot-3 senior Jace Murray with 15 points. The only other Packer in double figures was 6-foot-3 sophomore Duoth Gach with 11.

Austin had 27 of their points from the bench and Faribault's bench collected nine, with all but two of them in the second half.
