Five of the 11 Kenyon-Wanamingo wrestlers who qualified for the state tournament are coming home with some hardware.

  • 106-pound freshman Jeron Matson led the way with a Class A state title.
  • Defending 106-pound champ senior Ethan Cota placed fourth at 113 pounds.
  • Senior Ted Androli lost his third-place match 4-2 in overtime to Zumbrota-Mazeppa's Devin Manzy.
  • 182-pound senior Luke Rechtzigel finished fourth
  • 285-pound senior Austin Jackson was fifth.

Goodhue's 152-pound Bailee O'Reilly is also a state champion.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa's 182-pound sophomore Cade Steffen placed second.

Pine Island's 120-pound senior Noah Bauer was second.

Kasson-Mantorville had eight of their nine qualifiers place and came home with two state AA champions: 182-pound Aaron Berge and 195-pound Noah Ryan.

Top-ranked and unbeaten junior Brady Berge was injured and finished sixth at 160.

Patrick Kennedy placed third at 145 pounds, and 138-pound junior Isaac Haman was fourth.

Finishing fifth for the team Class 2AA state champs were 113-pound Jared Johnson and Keaton Schorr. Andy Bigelow placed sixth at 170 pounds.

Cannon Falls senior Ryan Epps is the state 145-pound Class AA champ.

Tri-City Titan Mason Rutt was fifth at 170 pounds.

Byron 106-pounder Matt Petersen finished fourth.

In Class AAA, two of Faribault's four qualifiers placed.

Edwin Santiago was fourth at 285 pounds and senior Ryan Mullenex suffered an injury and was sixth.

Owatonna has two state champions: Peyton Robb at 120 pounds and Brandon Moen at 195 pounds. Tanner Cole was third at 138.

Two Farmington Tigers clawed their way to state titles: Victor Gliva at 113 and 182-pound Taylor Venz.

Trayton Anderson placed fourth at 106 pounds and 132-pounder Jammin Leduc was third.
