You can learn about the history of the coffee business:

On nationaltoday.com it is noted that “Mainland Europe’s first official coffeehouse opened in Venice around 1645.” But in the U.S., if it weren’t for the Boston Tea Party in 1773, “Americans may never have swapped tea for coffee,” says nationaltoday.com. things really started to pick up when James Folger started introducing coffee to gold miners and pretty soon became the Folger’s brand we know today.

It is also noted by nationaltoday.com that during the 60s the idea of specialty coffee came about and was picked up by Starbucks (which was just a little coffee house in WA). Now it is explained that “the U.S. coffee shop market has grown to a $45.4 billion industry, according to Allegra World Coffee Portal’s 2019 Project Café USA report. Dry coffee sales topped $9 billion in 2017 in the U.S.” Wow!

You can of course have a coffee or try a new one:

The obvious sign of a way to celebrate today is to go to your nearest coffee shop or brew a coffee (or three) at home and live in the moment, drinking the satisfying drink. While I am a sucker for any mocha I think I am going to try a new drink today from a coffee shop. If you haven’t had a Pumpkin Spice Latte today could be your day or maybe even ask a barista to make you their favorite drink (I think I might do that).
