Now this is a reboot I can get behind.

The Mighty Ducks is getting a reboot on Disney+ coming in 2021. Much like the original movies, this new reboot will feature a misfit team that comes together and learns the values of teamwork and love of hockey. Emilio Estevez even returns as coach Gordon Bombay.

Steven Brill and Jordan Kerner, who respectively served as writer and producer for the 1992 film were the ones who initially pitched the idea to Disney back in 2018 and it is finally coming to life. Instead of a movie, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers will be a series. Filming happened this past summer in Vancouver, even though it is supposed to be set in Minnesota. Apparently, Canada was cheaper... Filming for the series actually wraps this week on December 17th.

What I really like about the trailer is that it takes a stab at crazy hockey parents. In the first part of the trailer, a hockey mom is called out for bringing two private trainers to her kid's hockey practice. We all know the type.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers will be out on Disney+ on March 26th.
